Teeth whitening, sometimes referred to as teeth bleaching, is a highly effective and affordable procedure that lightens and whitens teeth. We offer the following types of Teeth Whitening procedures in our office:
At Home Tooth Whitening (Custom Trays)
This is the most popular solution for all age groups. Molds are taken of your teeth and custom fitting trays are made. A whitening gel is dispensed into the trays and they are worn for 15-30 minutes once or twice a day. For those people with more sensitive teeth there is a lower strength gel that can be used for longer periods of time or overnight.
In-Office Tooth Whitening Procedure ( ZOOM whitening)
This is best suited for people who are in a rush or under time constraints such as prior to a wedding or social engagement. This procedure involves approximately two hours in the office and utilizes a special lamp to accelerate the whitening process. Take home trays are included and are used to increase the whitening effect at home.
KöR Whitening Deep Bleaching is the newest, most revolutionary and effective teeth whitening system ever developed. Unlike typical teeth whitening procedures:
- KöR Whitening is so effective; it is the only recognized system in the world that will even whiten tetracycline (dark) stained teeth, previously thought to be impossible.
- With easy periodic at-home maintenance your teeth will stay white permanently, even while you continue to drink red wine, tea, coffee etc.
- During the whitening process nearly all patients experience only low to typically no teeth sensitivity.
This procedure is comfortable and 100% safe for your teeth and gums. The result is a radiantly white, natural appearing smile that you will LOVE! It’s perfect for everyone, from 14 to 90!
How White Can My Teeth Get?
This is, without a doubt, the first and most often question asked of us when we discuss whitening procedures with our patients. Everyone’s teeth have a unique and inherent lightness potential. While the teeth whitening process can lighten teeth, it cannot change the intrinsic color of a tooth. Some teeth will achieve excellent and rapid lightening, while others will lighten slightly or more slowly
The doctors and staff of Bryn Mawr Dental Associates are well trained in all aspects of tooth whitening. We will be more than happy to discuss the different approaches to whitening your teeth and what may be best for your individual situation.
All whitening procedures will require some type of upkeep (periodic reapplication of whitening gel) to maintain the results. The frequency of this maintenance will depend upon the original color of your teeth, the amount of lightening that was achieved, and your diet.
